An outstanding combination piece featuring well defined bladed white crystals of barite forming a sort of hemispherical crystal grouping measuring 5.7 x 5.6 x 2.9 cm in size, this set with a pale purple transparent cubic fluorite crystal measuring 3.3 x 2.9 x 2.5 cm in size. Minor crystallized black sphalerite is also in association. This is a little different for barite from the mining district; the quality is excellent. Size: 8.6 x 5.6 x 3.3 cm. Damage-free. Ex Dr. Steven Neely collection #520. Ref: Rocks & Minerals:64:29; The Mineralogical Record as follows: Vol.9(4) 1978: 213-218; vol 12(1) 1981: 47; vol 27(3) 1996: pp. 171-173.

This is an oustanding crystallized small cabinet sized barite specimen! Typically these form spherical clusters like the one seen here, but rarely are they complete all of the way around 360 degrees like this one. The matrix is mostly scattered with lustrous complex black sphalerite crystals to 1.2 cm in size. Free and clean of any damage - the quality is outstanding for the species at this locality! Size: 8.3 x 7.3 x 5.6 cm. Ex Dr. Steven Neely collection #287. Ref: Rocks & Minerals:64:29; The Mineralogical Record as follows: Vol.9(4) 1978: 213-218; vol 12(1) 1981: 47; vol 27(3) 1996: pp. 171-173.

Neat and attractive miniature combination piece consisting of a 5.2 x 4.0 x 3.3 cm matrix of crystallized lustrous black sphalerite, this studded with several translucent lustrous purple cubic fluorite crystals to 1.8 cm on edge. Studded upon one of these fluorite crystals, very nicely, is a gemmy amber colored scalenohedral calcite crystal measuring 1.6 cm in height. The calcite is very slightly "tipped"; there is a small cleave to a fluorite crystal corner on the back side of the piece. Otherwise in very fine shape damage-wise. Ex Steve Neely collection #599. An outstanding combination piece from this famous locality! Pale purple near transparent cubic crystals of fluorite to 3.3 cm on edge are set on one end of a brilliant lustrous crystallized "matrix" of galena. Minor red sparkling micro sphalerite in association. This is complete all around 360 degrees and in excellent condition damage-wise. The quality of the galena crystals on this specimen is exceptional for the species from Elmwood. Measures 8.3 x 6.8 x 6.1 cm in size overall. Ex Steve Neely collection #391. Ref: The Mineralogical Record: 9: 213-218: American Mineral Treasures (Lithographie, LLC; 2008); pages 336-347.

This is a wonderful and aesthetic cabinet combination piece! The specimen shows a cluster of very dark purple cubic fluorite crystals to 32 mm on edge set aesthetically atop a matrix of white crystallized barite. The fluorite crystals show some translucency, though this does not show up well in the photos. The fluorite crystals are complete all around, with the back side showing naturally crystallized flattish crystal faces. There is one small chip on the extreme upper right corner of the piece, otherwise perfect. Measures 7 x 3 x 9.3 cm in size overall. An excellent cabinet piece! Ex Dr. Steve Neely collection #272 with label. Ref: Min. Record as follows: Vol.9(4) 1978: 213-218; vol 12(1) 1981: 47; vol 27(3) 1996: pp. 171-173.

Price: $ 650

A neat combination piece, this showing somewhat etched transparent purple fluorite crystals forming a 5.5 x 7 x 3.3 cm cluster without matrix. Part of these fluorites are coated by crystallized white barite; other parts are scattered with red and black sphalerite crystals to 2 mm in size. Naturally crystallized all around; I can find one small chip on an extreme edge of a fluorite crystal. Neat as this is beginning to show the dissolution fluorite that the district is so famous for, yet it remains a cluster of these crystals and is associated with other minerals. Better than the photo shows I think. Ex Dr. Steve Neely collection #428 with label. Ref: Min. Record as follows: Vol.9(4) 1978: 213-218; vol 12(1) 1981: 47; vol 27(3) 1996: pp. 171-173.

At least eight beautiful light purple transparent to translucent lustrous cubic fluorite crystals, the largest 3.2 cm on edge, are set nicely upon a dolomite crystal coated matrix. Slight cleaving is present to the corner of the crystal at the extreme lower right on the piece. This is at the base of the piece, and other than this, the specmen is in great shape damage-wise. Ex Steve Neely collection #486. Ref: American Mineral Treasures (2008), pp 337 - 347.

Several fine transparent purple cubic crystals of fluorite to 2.5 cm on edge are scattered attractively over a matrix of sparkling crystallized black sphalerite.
