An interesting and neat crystallized grouping of dark blue to almost black lustrous azurite crystals measuring 3.2 x 3.7 x 4.5 cm in size overall. The main crystal is quite thick and is terminated on top, though most of this termination is coated by tiny crystallized cerussite. There are small glassy transparent crystals of cerussite to 0.3 cm in length spread throughout the specimen. On the "back side" of the cluster is a choice twinned cerussite crystal measuring 0.9 x 0.7 cm. There are many neat smaller terminated crystals of azurite on the "front side" of the main azurite crystal. A fine and choice example for the species from this famous locality! Size: 4.5 x 3.7 x 3.2 cm. Ex Gene Tribbey collection with a data card noting an acquisition date in 1972 at $70; also a previous label from Ret Latta in Rockford, Illinois. Ref: Gebhard, G. (1999): Tsumeb II. A Unique Mineral Locality. GG Publishing, Grossenseifen, Germany, 328 p.

A very choice well crystallized old-time British specimen! The specimen consists of brown slightly translucent crystals of prismatic barite set on a small amount of matrix. The terminations are "brush-like", classic for this mining district. Measures 4 x 2.8 x 9.2 cm in size overall and is completely crystallized all around 360 degrees. Very clean of damage for one of these! Ex Gene Tribbey collection #5891.

Price: $ 300

A very neat combination small cabinet piece from this famous mining district! The specimen consists of a pale blue elongated near transparent semi-lustrous fluorite crystal, this hosting a colorless translucent double terminated calcite crystal measuring 6.8 cm in length. The fluorite is complete all around and very clean of damage; the main calcite crystal is damage-free. There are several smaller calcite crystals present that are cleaved. Overall I think this in very good condition damage-wise. Size: 8.7 x 6.9 x 5.4 cm. Ex Gene Tribbey collection #1703 with data card dating the specimen to 1985.

D9902416) Dioptase - Tsumeb Mine (Tsumcorp Mine), Tsumeb, Otjikoto (Oshikoto) Region, Namibia

A beautiful miniature specimen consisting of a flattish 5.3 x 4.2 x 1.9 cm matrix, the top covered by sparkling deep green superb crystals of dioptase to 5 mm in size. I cannot find any damage, even with a 10x loupe. Under the loupe the crystals are just slightly translucent. Excellent for this classic! Ex Gene Tribbey collection #2416 with label and data card. Size: 10.4 x 8.2 x 6.5 cm (cabinet)
Price: $ 850

Beautiful amber to bluish color zoned transparent sharp glassy crystals of fluorite to 6.4 cm on edge are set nicely upon a chalky white massive barite matrix. The fluorite crystals are quite gemmy; they exhibit many inclusions of small white crystalline barite. Only damage present is on what I consider the back of the specimen, out of view when the piece is displayed, this to a lower corner on the back of the larger fluorite crystal. Very choice and showy! Ex Gene Tribbey collection #418. Ref: The Mineralogical Record (1997): 28(1): 11; Rocks & Minerals: 63: 211 & 359.

A large bright brassy lustrous striated composite matrix-less crystal grouping of pyrite measuring 8.0 x 7.0 x 5.1 cm in size overall. Cleaved on the back; from the front this is pretty much perfect all around and very sharp. Quite good for the locality! Ex Gene Tribbey collection #1782 with data card. Ref: Ream, L. (1994): Gems and Minerals of Washington.

A superb large miniature for this famous U.S. locality! Two glassy highly lustrous transparent to translucent pale smoky quartz crystals are forming a 6.5 x 4.5 x 4.2 cm cluster without matrix. Complete all around 360 degrees as seen in the photos. With my 10x loupe, when looking very closely, I can find a tiny chip on each crystal's termination. To my naked eye this is completely undamaged and in excellent shape damage-wise. Very pretty! Ex Gene Tribbey collection #816 with label and data card dating the piece to 1965. Ref: The Mineralogical Record: 21: 203-213. Matrix: 5: 24-30.
